생성형 AI 기반 전시디자인에 대한 공간 경험 분석 - 관람객의 연상성을 중심으로

인공지능을 적용한 미래 기술이 삶의 각 분야에서 활용되고 있으며, 공간전시 분야에서도 관람객의 오감을 자극하여 새로운 경험을 제공하기 위한 목적으로 활용되고 있다. 본 연구는 생성형 AI 기술을 활용하여 인공지능과 디자이너의 창의적 사고를 상호작용적으로 결합시켜 구성한 전시가 관람객의 연상성 측면에서의 공간 경험에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 파악하기 위한 목적이다. 연구의 방법으로 첫째, AI를 활용한 전시 사례를 분석하여 AI 기술을 전시에 어떻게 적용하였는지 그특징을 서술하고, 유형을 분류하였다. 둘째, 생성형 AI를 활용한 10단계 경험 설계를 통해 작품(의자)을 만드는 과정을 영상 콘텐츠로 제작하여 작품 실물과 함께 특정 벽면에 상영한 후, 관람객에게 전시를 체험하게 하였다. 셋째, 드로잉을 통한 생각 연상 방법을 진행하여 문서에 기록하게 하였고, 연상성의 세부 요소인 장면표현(Scene)과 연상표현(Imagine) 관점에서의 경험 후기를 심층 인터뷰하였다. 연구 결과, 장면표현 관점에서 AI 전시의 연상성은 창의성과 호기심을 자극하는 동시에 AI 기술에 대한 두려움을 유발하고, 기계적으로 스토리를 전개하는 과정에서 다소 지루함을 느끼게 하는 부정적 경험도 있음을 알 수 있었다. 연상표현 관점에서 AI가 스스로 생성하는 독특한 작품 연상과정은 관람객들이 과거를 회상하고 깊은 감정적 공감대를 형성하도록 유도하는 역할을 하였다. AI 전시의 공간 경험은 관람객에게 AI와의 협업을 통해 작품을 창작하는 과정을 생동감　있게 보여주어 관람객이 전시 내용에 대해 깊이 생각하게 하고, 작품의 세부 사항을 더 쉽게 포착함으로써 전시회에 더욱 적극적으로 몰입하게 한다는 결론에 도달하였다. 이는 인간과 다른 AI에 대한 이질감을 넘어 확장적인 스토리텔링을 통해 여운을 남기며, 작가와 관람객 간 깊은 감정적 공감을 유도하여 무한한 상상의 공간을 제공한다는 데 의의가 있다. The application trend of artificial intelligence (AI) in various fields of life is obvious, and exhibitions in space also stimulate the audience’s senses and provide new experiences. This study aims to explore the impact of using generative AI to interactively combine artificial intelligence and designers’ creative thinking in exhibition spaces on the audience’s spatial experience. The approach involves analyzing four AI exhibition cases to extract characteristics of the unique experiences that the fusion of technology and art offers to audiences. In addition, a 10-step design of generative AI was used to create an exhibit (a chair) and documented it with video content. After placing the exhibits in a specific space, 10 participants in their 20s experienced the exhibition, and then conducted preliminary reflections through paintings and conducted in-depth interviews around Scene and Imagine. The results show that from a scene expression perspective, the imagination of the AI exhibition stimulates creativity and curiosity, but may raise concerns about the AI technology and occasional monotony in the mechanical unfolding of the story. From the perspective of imagine expression perspective, the unique artistic imagination process generated by artificial intelligence encourages audiences to recall the past and form deep emotional connections. To sum up, the spatial experience of the AI exhibition vividly demonstrates the collaborative creation process of AI, making it easier for the audience to actively capture and immerse themselves. This transcends initial uneasiness about AI, leaving a lasting positive impression, fostering emotional empathy through storytelling, and providing unlimited scope for imagination.
