기초조형의 시각적 인지차이에 관한 연구 -형태와 색채변화를 중심으로

창의적인 사고를 중시하는 사회인식의 확산으로 인하여 디자인의 중요성과 함께 이를 위한 디자이너의 노력에 주목할 필요가 있다. 특히 디자인은 인간의 다양한 요구에 의해 가시적인 결과물을 만들고 이는 현재 산업 전반에 좋은 영향을 미치고 있다. 이러한 디자인 프로세스에 있어 형태와 색채는 조형작업을 실체화하는 요소로써 중요하게 연구되고 검증, 발전시켜야 한다. 따라서 형태와 색채요인의 특징별 차이에 집중했던 이전의 선행연구와는 달리 본 연구는 형태와 색채가 복합적으로 조형에 적용되었을 때 시각을 통한 사용자의 인지능력에 대하여 통합적인 관점으로 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구가설을 증명하기 위하여 디자인전문가 의견조사를 통해 선별된 6개의 기초조형과 14가지 색채를 조합한 총 84가지의 실험조형을 170명의 대학생 피험자를 대상으로 PAD 감성측정법을 통한 실험을 진행하였다. 실험을 통한 분석결과, `유쾌함`에 대한 감성측면에서는 색채를 중심으로 한 선호도가 높게 나타났으며 `각성`과 `우세함`의 측면에서는 형태를 우선적으로 인지한다는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 피험자들의 성별과 디자인전공의 차이에 따라서도 인지결과의 차이점을 발견할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 다양한 형태와 색채의 적용이 가능한 디자인 트렌드의 변화 속에서 실질적으로 사용자 감성에 부합할 수 있는 시각적인 결과물을 이끌어내기 위한 실증적인 자료로 활용되기를 희망한다. The dissemination of social awareness that emphasizes creative thinking raises a need to pay attention to the importance of design and designers` efforts for creativity. In particular, design creates visible outcomes based on various human needs, which makes a positive impact throughout all industries. As part of this design process, the form and the color should be studied, verified, and developed as important elements of materializing and modeling. Therefore, unlike preceding studies that focused on characteristic differences of forms and colors, this study aims to examine the cognitive abilities of users when forms and colors are applied to the formative arts from the integrated perspective. As an experiment to prove the hypothesis of the research, a total of 84 experimental models combined with six basic models and 14 colors selected based on the opinion surveys among design experts have been used to conduct PAD sensibility measurements among 170 college students. The analysis results upon completion of experiment have found that the preference of color was high in emotional aspect of `pleasure` and that form is recognized in preference in terms of `arousal` and `dominance`. The study has also found the presence of difference in cognitive outcomes depending on the difference in subjects` gender and design major. Hopefully, these study findings are used as empirical materials to bring out tangible results that can substantially match users` sensibility in changes of design trends characterized by the application of various forms and colors.
