가죽공예 수업지도안 연구 - 초등학교 5, 6학년 중심으로

가죽을 활용한 공예는 일상생활에서의 탁월한 쓰임새는 물론 이차원적 평면에서 삼차원으로의 조형과정을 통해 창의적인 디자인 사고를 표출하고, 조형적 표현으로서 다양한 예술적 요소를 창출하는데 적합하다. 이러한 가죽 공예의 활용도와 창의적 재능발현 등 경쟁력의 우수성에도 불구하고 최근 학교문화예술교육은 가죽공예에 대한 인지도가 높지 않은 관계로 도자공예, 목공예 등 전통공예 관련 공예교육에 국한되어 있으며, 수업 개설 빈도 또한 극히 낮은 것이 현실이다. 따라서 학교공예교육으로서 가죽공예 수업지도안 사례를 찾아보기 어렵다. 이에 본 연구는 공방 운영 및 학교문화예술교육의 일환으로 진행하여 온 공예수업과 교육경험을 바탕으로 초등학교 5, 6학년 학생들을 대상으로 하는 가죽공예 수업지도 프로그램을 마련하고자 하였다. 수업지도 프로그램은 우선 학생들의 흥미를 유발할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 일상생활에서 활용도가 높은 작품 위주로 구성하였으며 기본 교육과정에서 가죽의 특성 이해 및 가죽공예의 도구의 활용과 제작과정을 공정별 네 단계로 구성하여 단계별 제작 공정을 이해하여 습득할 수 있도록 하였다. 다음 심화과정의 응용단계 프로그램에서는 기본 교육과정에서 학습한 내용을 단계별 총괄하여 적용하고 일련의 작품 제작을 통하여 가죽공예의 전반적인 기초 제작과정을 반복 정리하도록 하여 학습 완성도를 높이고자 하였다. 또한, 이러한 수업 내용을 바탕으로 체득한 사항들을 학생들의 피드백과 개선 사항으로 공유하여 학교 및 교육현장에서의 가죽공예교육을 활성화시키는데 도움이 되고자 하였다. 나아가 본 연구를 통해 가죽공예의 저변 확대는 물론 학교문화예술교육으로서의 가죽공예 수업모형 개발 및 교수학습 자료에 대한 연구와 발전이 활발하게 이루어지길 바란다. Leathercraft not only has excellent use but is also suitable for expressing creative design thinking and expressing various molding elements as artistic expressions. Despite the excellence of competitiveness of leathercraft, culture and arts education in schools are limited to lessons on traditional crafts such as ceramic craft, woodcraft and so on due to the low recognition of leather craft. Therefore, the frequency of leathercraft class opening is also extremely low and there are few cases of leathercraft teaching instruction as a school craft education. For this reason, this study intends to provide a teaching plan of leathercraft for the 5th and 6th grade of elementary school students based on the experience of craft classes carried out as a part of studio operation and school crafts education. It is mainly focused on works that can induce students' interest and are highly useful in daily life in developing class programs and as a basic training course, four basic steps were made to understand the characteristics of leather and the basic manufacturing process of leathercraft. In the subsequent application process, students comprehend the overall production process by making deeply and comprehensively applied works that were applied in the previous lessons. In addition, I intend to help stimulate the education of leathercraft in the school and education field by sharing the improvements and the feedback of the students while applying to the actual classes. Furthermore, It is hoped that this study will not only expand the base of leathercraft but also the development of leathercraft class model as school culture art education and research and development of teaching and learning materials will be actively carried out.
