Summary:Purpose – This study aims to identify factors affecting export continuity in Korean agri-food export firms by applying Transaction Cost Economics (TCE). Design/Methodology/Approach – The study employs a structural equation model (SEM) based on survey data collected from 103 Korean agri-food exporters. Reliability, validity, and hypothesis tests were conducted to analyze both the direct and indirect effects of transaction cost factors through governance structure. Findings – The study confirms that asset specificity and transaction uncertainty significantly affect export continuity. Governance structure mediates the relationship between transaction cost factors and export performance. Eight out of ten hypotheses were supported, validating the applicability of TCE in long-term export sustainability. Research Implications – The study provides empirical evidence that governance structure significantly mediates the relationship between transaction cost factors and export continuity in Korean agri-food firms. It confirms the applicability of Transaction Cost Economics (TCE) beyond firm boundaries to long-term export sustainability. These findings offer strategic implications for exporters to design efficient governance mechanisms that minimize transaction costs while enhancing resilience in uncertain global markets. Moreover, it contributes to theory by linking transaction characteristics to export performance outcomes through structural alignment. KCI Citation Count: 0
