Summary:As ethical management and corporate social responsibility become more important in the logistics field, interest in this topic is increasing, but related research is lacking. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationships among ethical management practice, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and operating performance. Moreover, the study intends to verify the mediating effects of CSR. Design/Methodology/Approach Based on previous studies related to ethical management practice, corporate social responsibility, the authors identified the pertinent factors. Questionnaires were developed to measure each variable, and a survey of workers in logistics companies was conducted. A total of 246 responses were utilized for analysis. In order to test the hypotheses, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, mediated regression analysis and mediating effect analysis were performed. The analysis tool used was SPSS Process Macro by Hayes (Model 4). Findings Results showed that ethical management practice had a significant effect on corporate social responsibility, and ethical management practice and corporate social responsibility each had a meaningful influence on operating performance. Also ethical management practice had a significant influence on operating performance through corporate social responsibility. That is, it showed that corporate social responsibility had a mediating effect on operating performance. Research Implications Therefore, logistics companies need to actively implement ethical management practice and corporate social responsibility to improve operating performance. KCI Citation Count: 5
