남자중학생이 지각한 어머니와의 의사소통, 또래관계 질과 문제적 게임이용의 관계에서 정서조절곤란의 매개효과

본 연구는 남자중학생이 지각한 어머니와의 의사소통, 또래관계 질과 문제적 게임이용의 관계에서 정서조절곤란의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구대상은 1~3학년 남자중학생 270명이었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 25.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 상관분석과 회귀분석을 실시하였으며, Hayes(2013)의 PROCESS macro를 사용하여 매개분석을 실시하였다. 매개효과의 통계적 유의성 검증을 위해 부트스트랩(Bootstrap)을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 남자중학생이 지각한 어머니와의 의사소통 중 개방형 의사소통 수준이 높고 폐쇄적 의사소통 수준이 낮으면, 문제적 게임이용 수준이 유의미하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 또래관계 질은 문제적 게임이용 수준에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 둘째, 어머니-자녀 의사소통 중 폐쇄형 의사소통이 정서조절곤란을 매개로 문제적 게임이용에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같이 본 연구는 남자중학생의 문제적 게임이용에 영향을 미치는 어머니와의 의사소통, 또래관계 질, 정서조절곤란의 영향을 통합적으로 탐색하고, 남자중학생의 어머니와의 의사소통과 문제적 게임이용의 관계에서 정서조절곤란의 역할을 탐색함으로써 남자중학생이 지각한 어머니와의 의사소통이 어떤 매커니즘을 통해 문제적 게임이용에 영향을 주는지 구체적으로 검증하였다는 데 의의가 있다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effects of emotion dysregulation on the relationships between mother-adolescent communication style, peer relationship quality, and maladaptive game use. The subjects of this study were 270 male students attending middle schools in the metropolitan area. The collected data were analyzed by Pearson’s correlation analysis and regression analysis using SPSS 25.0. First, the results of multiple regression analysis showed that the higher level of the mother-adolescents’ open communication and the lower level of the mother-adolescents’ closed communication significantly affected the lower level of the adolescents’ maladaptive game use. Second, as a result of using PROCESS macro by Hayes(2013) and bootstrapping method, emotion dysregulation mediated the relationships between a mother-adolescents’ closed communication and maladaptive game use. In conclusion, this study highlighted the importance of mother-adolescents’ communication style and emotion regulation to alleviate the male adolescents’ use of maladaptive games.
