Summary:The purpose of this study is to examine the morphological causatives contents (grammar, examples and so on) based on the analysis of Korean language textbooks. First, the causatives are commonly exhibited in the middle-level textbook but the general explanation of the main semantic characteristics such as the syntactic change characteristics from the basic sentence to the causative sentence, indirect/direct semantic characteristics do not appeared in each textbook. Second, the extension of the morphological causative affixes which is the recent major trend in Korean linguistics are not exhibited, further general causative affixes, ‘-이/히/리/기/우/구/추-’ are not totally presented in each textbook. Third, the causatives contents must be uniformly exhibited both in the main information body and in the exercises, but in some textbooks, there are only presented in the exercise without basic explanation about the morphological causatives. Fourth, the animacy of causer, causee of the morphological causatives are variously appeared in a balanced way. In the each Korean language textbook, all the contents about the (morphological) causative are very short, the language-universal causative are main grammar category which show the various realization methods and have association with passives, so the causative which is the unique position in the grammar category must be specifically presented in Korean language textbooks.
