포스트 휴머니즘, 지리교육 그리고 사이보그 시민

학생들은 기술 과학의 발달로 등장한 포스트 휴먼 사회에서 살아가고 있다. 포스트 휴먼 시대는 ‘인간’을 ‘포스트 휴먼’이라는 새로운 존재로 이해한다. 본 연구는 포스트휴머니즘에서 논의되고 있는 신체성에 대한 사유에서 나타나는 지리교육적 인간상으로서 ‘사이보그 시민’을 상정하고 이에 대해 논의해 보았다. 교육과정 상에서 제시되어 있는 교육적 인간상은 인간 존재의 구성 방식을 다르게 규정하고 있는 포스트휴머니즘 속에서 다시 쓰여져야 할 필요가 있다. 왜냐하면 포스트 휴먼 사회에서 인간 존재의 구성 원리는 탈인간중심적이고 비인간 행위자들까지 포섭하기 때문이다. 이러한 사이보그 시민의 존재론적 조건은 시민이 가져야 하는 책임과 배려의 범위를 확장시키고 있다. 따라서 사이보그 시민은 인간-비인간의 혼성체로서 관계적 존재론에 기반하고 있고, 이로 인해 요구되는 인간 및 비인간에 대한 윤리적 책임과 배려를 실천할 수 있는 인간이라고 할 수 있다. 학교 지리교육을 통한 사이보그 시민 만들기는 학생들의 지리 세계를 윤리적, 정치적으로 구성하는데 도움을 제공할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 더 나은 세계를 만드는데 기여할 수 있을 것이다. Students are living in a Post-Human society that emerged as a result of techno-science advances. Human is understood as a new being ‘post human’ in the Post-Human Age. This study discussed the “cyborg citizen” as a geographical education human image in thought of the corporeality being discussed in posthumanism. The educational human image presented in the curriculum needs to be rewritten in the posthumanism which considers the way of organizing human existence differently. Because the constitution principle of human existence is dehumanistic and inclusive of non-human actors. The ontological condition of cyborg citizen extends the range of responsibility and care that citizen should have. Therefore, cyborg citizen is based on relational ontology as a hybridity of human and non-human, and can be said to be a human who can practice ethical responsibility and care for human and non-human. The making of cyborg citizens through school geography education can help to shape the students’ geographical world ethically and politically and can contribute to a better world.
