중국의 ‘파워(power)’에 대한 인식변화 연구 : 중국 지도자 연설문 언어분석을 중심으로

본 연구는 TextMind 프로그램을 적용하여 중국 지도자들의 연설문 언어스타일을 분석하고 이를 통해 중국의 파워에 대한 인식변화를 파악한다. 최근 중국은 소위 부정적 소프트 파워(negative soft power)라고 불리는 중국식 소프트 파워를 강조하고 있다. 이것은 세계 패권국 지위 추구를 위한 일종의 하드 파워적 성격을 띠고 있다고 할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 중국의 파워에 대한 인식이 소프트 파워의 성격에서 하드파워로 변화하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 중국의 하드 파워 추구는 미국에 대한 견제와 갈등으로 이어져 최근 미중 패권경쟁 심화라는 양상으로 나타나고 있는 것이다. 이러한 중국의 파워에 대한 인식변화는 그것의 표출방식 중에 하나라고 할 수 있는 지도자의 대외연설문 분석으로 파악할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 경제적 부상 이후 중국의 파워에 대한 인식이 하드 파워 추구의 방향으로 변화하고 있으며 이는 중국식 특유의 소프트 파워, 소위 부정적 소프트 파워 표출의 양상을 띠고 있다고 보고 있다. 그리고 중국의 이러한 인식변화는 미국 패권에 도전하는 하드 파워적 성격을 띠며 미중 패권경쟁 심화의 원인 중에 하나라고 볼 수 있다. This study analyzes the speech style of Chinese leaders by applying TextMind program and grasps the change of perception of Chinese power through it. Recently, China has emphasized Chinese soft power, which is called negative soft power. This can be said to have a kind of hard power personality for pursuing the status of the world hegemony, and through this, it can be seen that China’s perception of power is changing from the nature of soft power to hard power. This pursuit of hard power in China has led to conflicts against the United States, and has recently emerged as an aspect of intensifying US-China hegemony competition. This change in the perception of power in China can be understood by analyzing the leader’s speeches, which can be said to be one of the ways of expression. Therefore, this study believes that the recognition of China’s power after economic rise is changing in the direction of pursuing hard power, which is a characteristic of Chinese soft power and so-called negative soft power expression. And China’s change in perception is one of the causes of deepening the U.S.-China hegemony, with a hard power character challenging the U.S. hegemony.
