Summary:This study is intended to development a group counseling program based on positive psychology in order to increase the empowerment of runaway adolescents, and to verify its effectiveness. The program was conducted by two project groups willing to participate in the program. The experimental group was requested to take the positive psychological program, which is developed by the researcher, for 10 times-0hours(2 hours per week). The research designs used for this study were '2×2 One Between-One Within Subjects Mixed Designs' in which a before-examination and an after-examination of each group are controlled. To verify the effectiveness of the program, this study has measured the influence of the positive psychotherapy program on increasing the empowerment of the runaway adolescents, and also on their depression, optimism, and psychological well-being. The results are summed up as follows. First, depression were significant difference between therapy group and waiting-list control group. First, depression were significant difference between therapy group and waiting-list control group. Second, Optimism were significant difference between therapy group and waiting-list control group. Third, Psychological Well-being were significant difference between therapy group and waiting-list control group. At last, the implication and the limitations of this study, and the suggestions for future study were also discussed.
