Summary:We evaluated the skin safety and usefulness of BS-1210 (Bean Stalk Series); Hair Shampoo and Skin Lotion, skin care products for children containing A-thujaplic (Hinokitiol), an antibacterial agent Thirty-five infants and children under the age of 7 suffering from the following skin diseases; atopic dermatitis (29), dry form eczema infantum (3), infantile seborrheic dermatitis (2), and infantile dermatitis (1) were selected for this study. The hair shampoo was used every day or every other day during the bath. The skin lotion was applied simply twice a day. These products were used for 4 weeks according to the doctor's instructions, and the skin conditions were monitored at 2 weeks interval. The skin conditions of 26 (90%) out of 29 atopic dermatitis patients and all cases (100%) of other patients improved significantly on he final observation, while no apparent adverse reaction was seen.
