Summary:Neurologically impaired patients often face challenges related to respiratory and nutritional management, which may require surgical intervention. Moreover, some patients admitted to facilities for neurologically impaired patients are not adequately followed up after postoperative transfer to these facilities. Our hospital has established a system of continuous routine rounds at facilities for neurologically impaired patients. This system enables monitoring of the patient's pre- and postoperative status and facilitates collaboration with the respective facilities. Conducting assessments of nutritional status, swallowing function, and gastrointestinal function for each individual case yields more detailed information for the patient, their family, pediatricians at the facility, and other healthcare providers.
