Summary: | In this research, "Washi", traditional Japanese handmade paper, was made waterproofed on a traditional technique, and two types of samples were made, The targets was not ornaments, crafts, but daily necessities for anyone, in order to revival the obsolete culture of the "Washi", traditional Japanese handmade paper. We focused on waterproofed papers, They were used for daily necessities generally, Firstly we tried 3 traditional technique for waterproofness, "Urushi", "Enoyu", "Kakishibu", Secondly, we tried a new technique, glass forming liquid as an experiment. Finally, we made two samples of the waterproofed materials, one was a "Washi-rainwear" and the other was a "Washi-cup".
