Summary:The authors have developed a new type of high strength single-sided construction bolt for frictional joints that can be fastened from one side at low cost and has excellent workability. For the purpose of collecting basic data for examining the applicability to steel structures, slip test and U-rib steel loading test of single side bolted friction joints using new type single-sided construction bolts were conducted. As a result, slip coefficient of single side bolted friction joints using new type single-sided construction bolts is about 0.44 to 0.51 about 30% to 40% lower than the hight strength bolt, because the contact pressure between members is lower than the bolt axial force.
