Summary: | Many urban expressways have been in service for more than 40 years, and aging of the entire structure is becoming a serious problem. In particular, the progress of deterioration of reinforced concrete (RC) decks bearing the direct load. A wheel load running test can be used for evaluation of the durability of RC deck. However, since a higher-than-actual load is applied directly onto the RC deck slab without asphalt pavement, the behavior between movement and response in an actual traffic environment is not necessarily reproduced. In this study, to make sure the relationship between the action and response of RC deck, strain measurement was performed on actual RC deck of an urban expressway using a constant load vehicle, and various factors affecting the strain response of RC deck were analyzed. |
