Summary:Purpose: To analyze trends in research on public health nursing education in Japan and identify issues related to future research. Methods: Using "public health nurse", "public health nursing", and "student" as key words, we searched articles published between 2011 and 2018 in the Japan Medical Abstracts Society and NII Scholarly and Academic Information Navigator, and 103 articles were extracted and analyzed. Results: The most frequently used terms related to the research theme were "practical training", "studying / learning", "attainment / attainment level", "practice", "skill / skill item", "assessment", "examination", "comparison", "analysis", and "introduction". Those that were newly used "lecture / class", "nursing competencies", "active learning", "introduction", "establishing", and "nurturing" in recent years. As study subjects, 84.5% of the articles involved students, but only a few involved teachers and training instructors. Conclusions: In addition to assessing and examining the results of public health nursing education in the research targeting students, it is necessary to examine teaching methods of teachers and educational involvement of training instructors in future research.
