Summary: | In order to find solutions for environmental problems and complex regional issues, it is necessary to promote cooperation between various stakeholders. Furthermore, it is required for universities to develop “human resources” who coordinate such cooperation. Active learning is considered to be important in developing such “human resources” and “Toho Ecolution” is an example of effective active learning methodologies. In this paper, we introduce “Toho Ecolution” projects established in 2017 at Toho University, Narashino Campus, and analyze what role “supporters” such as faculty members and external lecturers played in each project. The purpose of this paper is to provide knowledge of “human resource” development methodology. As a result, firstly, the supporters reconstructed the ideas proposed by the students as social issues in which the needs is clearly defined. Secondly, the supporters arranged communication with stakeholders in order for the project to have a higher chance of being accepted. As a result of this study, we point out the following recommendations for an effective process: the supporters need to set the learning goal and proposal in advance and the supporter needs to be a member of stakeholders and support the coordination work. |
