Summary:The author had a chance to examine a 14-year-old girl who complained of incessant snore-like noise irrespective of sleeping that had started on the third day after her birth and continued ever since. This was different from stridor and was of similar nature to the snore made when one is fast asleep. It was confirmed that this noise was produced by the vibration of the membranous valve protruding symmetrically at the cuneiform cartilage region of the larynx when breathing. Especially, the membrane on both sides came into contact and vibrated at the inspirating moment. This snore-like noise was completely done away by removing the excessive membrance.
