Summary:The purpose of this report is to describe the usefulness of an occupation-focused practice for a stroke-induced hemiplegic patient with pre-existing rheumatoid arthritis. We conducted occupation-focused practice while referring to disease-specific assessments and interventions related to stroke and rheumatoid arthritis. Consequently, there was a discernible amelioration in upper limb functionality and quality of life, alongside an enhancement in occupational performance. Furthermore, there was an observable increase in the patient's degree of independence in ADLs. We posit that these improvements underscore the potential usefulness of occupation-focused practice for patients with multiple disabilities, such as rheumatoid arthritis and stroke.
