Summary:We investigated the prevalence of tinnitus in patients with headache. The subjects were 231 patients visited headache clinic. Tinnitus handicap was investigated by THI-12 (tinnitus handicap inventory) ,and the mood was investigated by HADS (hospital anxiety and depression scale) respectively. There were 61 (approximately 30%) patients complaining tinnitus. Especially the patients with chronic migraine had higher prevalence of tinnitus. The handicap due to tinnitus was no severe in these patients. The patient with tinnitus had dizziness as well. There were 41 patients with vestibular migraine. Among them, 13 (31.7%) complained tinnitus. There were 7 patients had hearing impairment in 41 patients with migraine without aura complaining tinnitus. In these patients 4 had history of sudden deafness. We now know that there many patients complaining tinnitus in headache clinic.
