Summary:While the word "balance" is easy for many people to imagine, it is also very abstract, and the use of the word varies greatly from person to person. Therefore, it is thought that subdividing and organizing the elements included in "balance" will lead to appropriate assessment and intervention. Many balance-related tests and interventions have already been presented, but their purposes and main targets are very different. What is important is to develop evaluation, interpretation, and intervention with the disability structure in mind, and to have a comprehensive perspective that includes the environment. This paper presents concrete examples based on the latest findings.
