Summary: | An american architect William Merrell Vories was active in Japan from the end of the Meiji era to the post war period. He designed more than 1,500 buildings in his life time, and all of them are not well known except for the famous ones due to the huge number of works. This research is based on two remodelling drawings of the missionary Frank Cary's residence planned in Otaru City, Hokkaido, to investigate the existence of residence corresponding to the drawings and to make an analogy model of the residence. These drawings are the only each floor plan and part of the development view. |
