Summary:Combining art and architecture in a single encyclopedic reference book is problematic. Artworks are deeply personal expressions of the artist’s imagination, created by an individuated craft. Architecture is a collective expression of design, spatial occupation, material resource appropriation, and the deployment of a labor force.
