Summary: | In 1907 the Lower Austrian officials Leopold Steiner and Fedor Gerényi traveled from Vienna to Kromìøíž (German Kremsier), in the geographic center of Moravia, the Crown land situated north of Lower Austria and east of Bohemia. They had come to see the asylum nearing completion on the edge of this historic town, the summer residence of the Olomouc archbishops, famous for its seventeenth-and eighteenth-century chateau and gardens. On the main road out of town to the southwest, they would have passed a late seventeenth-century ornamental garden (Kvìtná zahrada) and arrived at the asylum complex laid out immediately alongside.
