Summary:Human nutrition results from an intricate balance between the types and quantities of nutrients a person takes in, and whether or not those meet an individual’s nutrient needs. Many factors contribute to both nutrient requirements and nutrient consumption, thus positioning nutrition as an embodiment of multiple aspects of lifeways and a rich topic of study. The genesis of this chapter is our observation of multiple cases of skeletal lesions usually attributed to nutritional deficiencies.
