I suggest that a straightforward analysis of land shapes would help learners of all ages to identify simple and complex shapes on our world map or globe. The map and list of the top 20 countries by population size shown in Figures 4 and Table 1 are so crucial, and to make these facts seem real, interesting and memorable young people we could ask a maths teacher to use the data in one of their lessons. |
