Abstract | 「1. はじめに」病原細菌の同定や種内での細分類を行う方法として, 菌体表層に発現する糖鎖やタンパク質などの構造的多様性を標的とした免疫学的な分類法, いわゆる "血清型別法" が古くから用いられている. 本総説で取り上げる大腸菌 (Escherichia coli) では, O抗原と呼ばれる菌体抗原とH抗原と呼ばれるべん毛抗原を標的とした血清型別が一般的に用いられている. 現在, O血清群 (O群, O serogroup) はO1からO188まで, H型 (H type) はH1からH56までが定められており, O群とH型の組み合わせによって表される血清型 (serotype) は計算上1万通り近くとなり, 十分な細分類解像度があると言える. 分離株間の血清型が同じであれば, それらは短い期間内に単一細胞から分裂した派生株であるか, あるいはごく近縁な系統関係にある同族株であると予想できる. |
