Summary:The efficacy and safety of cefozopran on infectious diseases in the obstetric and gynecological field were investigated in 6 patients who consisted of 2 with pelvic peritonitis, 2 with endometritis, 1 with Bartholin's abscess, and 1 with vaginal hematoma due to inflammatory vaginal atresia. The drug was intravenously infused at a dose of 1.0g twice a day. The drug was clinically effective in all patients. Causative bacteria were eliminated in all 5 patients in whom the bacteriological effect of the drug could be assessed. The above results suggest that the drug is useful for treatment of infectious diseases in the obstetric and gynecological field.
