Summary:VR technology allows people to immerge into the virtual environment than ever before. The technology is based on simulating perception of depth with stereoscopy image. However, it is difficult to objectively evaluate the effect of depth perception in VR. In this research, we perform our experiment of SSVEP tasks with moving 3D stimuli and background in different colour modulations, on either VR or normal display. The experimental results show that, in different background colours, the responses of the stimuli do not follow the same pattern. The results can be applicable to analysis of depth perception in the brain and the development of better BCI control system in VR environment.
