Summary: | A 69-year old housewife noticed an asymptomatic small dark brown macule on her left axilla for the past 33years. She first recognized the pigmented macule just after having an operation for cancer in her left breast. She was presented at our hospital by her doctor as her pigmented macule had spread with itching. At the first examination, a 50mm×50mm reticular pigmented macule was seen on her left axilla. The lesion was removed completely, and total skin grafting was conducted. Histological examination revealed basaloid cell nests in the upper dermis. The tumor cell nest connected to the upper-lined epidermis. The peripheral cell of the tumor showed parisade arrangement. We diagnosed this case as a superficial type of basal cell epithelioma developed on axilla. |
