Summary:A 47-year-old female had a solid tumor with pain in the left anterior chest wall. A CT scan showed the tumor (4×3cm) originated from the rib. As needle biopsy revealed malignant non-epitherial tumor (chondrosarcoma in postoperative diagnosis), massive and en-bloc resection of the tumor with adjacent two ribs and muscles was performed. Repair of the defect (14×12cm) of chest wall was done with Marlex mesh, covered with a pedicle of latissmus dorsi muscle flap. No complications occurred after the operation. Marlex mesh is considered to be an excellent material for repair of chest wall.
