Summary:A total of 985 consecutive cases of transurethral prostatectomy performed at our hospitals in these three years were compared with a previous series of 1, 416 cases of prostatectomy. The length of the time required for resection, the amount of blood transfusion and postoperative complications were remarkably improved. Cases of postoperative deaths decreased to 0.1% (1/985).
