Summary:The nutritive condition of patients is a problem of great concern in all diseases, patic-ularly in surgery. 1. We have used double lumen tube for the early alimentation after the gastric operation and have explained the salient points thereof. 2. We have investigated nutritive agents for the tube feeding and concocted a mixed nutritm-ent containing enzymic casein hydrolysate as protein source. 3. We have tried the animal experiment with this mixture and confirmed its excellent nutr-itive value and found to produced no toxic effects or signs of food deficiency. 4. We have made a clincal application of this mixture and obtained good results in 61 cases of gastric resection.
