Summary:Novel type of bistable LCD by using the N* LC material with Δε<0 was investigated. There was a possibility that an optical high contrast ratio was obtained, because the pure black image was simply able to obtain by using the vertical alignment state with S90°twist. However, in this made, the display holding time was shorter than that of conventional type. In this paper, the polymer wall by the UV curable LC polymers was fabricated around each pixel out to achieve the improvement under display holding time of the AS270° twisted state. As a result, the display holding time was improved compared.
