Summary: | We have investigated novel nematic LCD mode with radial/concentric electrode structures. One side of the substrate has radial electrodes and another side has concentric circles electrodes. Large numbers of multi-domain structures are induced into one-pixel. Electric field gradually decreases from center to outer multi-domains due to radial electrodes. Contrast ratio of homeotropic alignment cell is 210:1. Symmetric viewing angle characteristics are also obtained. |
