Summary:Rendezvous and Docking (RVD) is an essential technology for the future space activities. In late 199’'s, space activities such as carrying the logistics end the materials to the International Space Station (SS) , retrieval, repair and exchanging onboard equipments in space will become operational, and RVD is a prerequisite technology in order to ensure the availability of these space activities. This paper presents the discussion and the results of various potential future missions requiring RVD, approach paths with the emphasis on safety aspects, redundant management, hardware configuration, guidance navigation & control (G&C) system, docking/berthing methods and these contact conditions, RVD system verification and so on.
