Richards seeks to add to this overdue process not by analyzing a particular set of representations in a given text or texts but rather by focusing on how strategic presumptions, impositions, and/or denials of queerness dictated and often continue to dictate and canonicity of this era's literature and its authors as well as their places within broader understandings of national literary production. |
