Summary: | The inhibitory activity of hyaluronidase was found in the water extract of Gymnema sylvestre. The two active compounds were purified with gel filtration, followed by anion exchange chromatography, and their structural study were performed by GC-MS and carbazole method. On the bases of these results, the two active substances were proved to be pectic substances containing 73% D-galacturonic acid with approximately 4.0×104 and 2.0×104 of molecular weight as I and II, respectively. |
