Summary:The ringed intraluminal graft (RIG) was used in fifteen patients with type I dissection and five patients with type III dissection. Among them, a case of severe hemolytic anemia due to the kinked graft of the RIG was seen lately and recovered thoroughly by reoperation of resection of a redundant segment of the graft and reanastomosis. We studied intravascular hemolysis on twelve patients of RIG surgery by following up the postoperative changes of serum LDH, red-cell hemoglobin and serum total bilirubin, compared with those levels of the hemolysis case. It is concluded that any evidence of intravascular hemolysis was found among the twelve patients of RIG, of which the size was over 20mm in diameter. acute aortic dissection ringed intraluminal graft (RIG) hemolytic anemia from kinked graft, hemoglobinuria from mechanical intravascular hemolysis
