Summary: | Increased traffic in emerging nations like India shortens flexible pavements' lifespan. Several modified binders have gained notice recently due to their high structural capacity. Modified binders emit more harmful gases and demand higher production temperatures. Researchers tried to create additives to lessen modified bitumen's issues and keep flexible pavements from deteriorating. This paper critically reviews geopolymers and crumb rubber (CR) modified binders and their use in pavement. Thus, CR binders with and without geopolymers must be examined structurally and physically. This work investigated geopolymer-modified CR viscosity. CR Binder with Geopolymers at 0%, 6%, 8%, and 10% tested on unaged and aged binders. Binder qualities were determined by softening point, penetration, and elastic recovery experiments. A Brookfield Rotational Viscometer (RV) was used to compare the binders' viscosity and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) determined the geopolymer's water loss. According to tests, CRMB's physical properties changed with geopolymer content. Adding 8% geopolymer enhanced conventional properties and lowered mixing and compaction temperatures. |
