Summary:A case of insulinoma is reported in which the localization of the tumor was established preoperatively using ultrasonography and angiography. The patient, a 22 year old woman, was admitted to our hospital because of syncopal attack. The blood insulin level was slightly high and both of fasting test and glucagon loading test showed the findings compatible with that of insulinoma. Ultrasonography and angiography revealed the tumor mass in the tail of the pancreas. The patient was treated with a distal pancreatectomy with splenectomy using the artificial pancreas. The histological examination of the pancreas showed insulinoma. The postoperative course was uneventful.
