Summary:A faculty of pharmacy was established in April 2004, and introduction of library resources and electronic journals, databases and user service in the health science field are newly needed for the library based on the liberal arts' resources for years in Musashino University. In order to raise the skills of a non-permanent staff member, the authors held training sessions on the introduction of basic books, reference materials, electronic journals in health science fields, and the description of the specific medical and pharmaceutical terms and thesaurus, as well as database exercises for the health science field, in the past two years. In order to improve the quality of the library works and user service, the staff's continuing education is an important subject now when the outsourcing of library business is increasing. The authors want to report one example of staff education in outsourcing.
