Summary:Calcification of the intervertebral disc in childhood is an uncommon disease and its etiology is still unknown. We report a case of an 11-year-old girl, who complained of neck pain and limitation of neck movement. The neurological examination was normal. Cervical spine films showed calcification in the C4/5 intervertebral disc space. The patient became asymptomatic with conservative treatment. Magnetic resonance imaging study was done to observe the pathology of the disc. This study suggests that degenerative changes of the intervertebral disc is one of the important factors in this condition.
