Summary:Antitumor activity of ethylene-vinyl alcohol (EVA1) copolymer matrices containing 5-FU or adriamycin was evaluated against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma in mice. A prolongation of the life-span of the animals following intraperitoneal implantation of therapeutic matrices was noted. Matrices composed of EVA1 copolymer could be useful vehicles for topical administration of anticancer agents.
