Summary:KW-1062, a new aminoglycoside, was investigated on clinical effectiveness in the surgical infections.The results of these clinical trials were obtained as follows : (1) Ten patients with surgical infections, almost mixed type, were administered 80mg or 160 mg of KW-1062 daily by the intramuscular or the topical route. This agent showed remarkable therapeutic results : eight of these patients (80%) responded satisfactorily. (2) No noticeable untoward reactions were obtained except slight elevation of GOT, GPT, and BUN. These abnormalities returned immediately to the normal range after cessation of this agent.
