Summary:The penetration of T-1220 into albino rabbit eyes and clinical use were examined, and results obtained as follows : 1) After instillation of 12.5% T-1220 eye drops, effective concentration of T-1220 was found in the outer parts of the eye and intraocular tissue. 2) After 50 mg/kg intramuscular injection of T-1220, effective concentration was found in the outer parts of the eye, but non-effective concentration in the inner parts of the eye. 3) Higher concentration of T-1220 in the inner parts of the eye was found in the case of 50 mg/0.5 ml subconjunctival injection than 50 mg/kg intramuscularly. 4) Combined 1.0 g of T-1220 intramuscular injection with 12.5% instilled eye drops were favorably used in cases with infectious corneal ulcer. Effective rate was 88.9%. And as side effects, no severe anaphylactic phenomenon was observed.
