Summary:Recently, the various measures to develope textile industry are suggested by the parties concerned. Local industries play an important roles against the activation and change of idea in the textile industry. In this time, authors have made a joint study on the above subject in the eastern zone of Ishigaki, Okinawa. This distric is expected as a unique local silk industry zone, Moderate climate, blessed nature and abundant person's labor are the reasons of silk industry developing in Ishigaki provinces. The conclusion abtained by the survey is that if the silk worm species and silk processing technique is improved to adapt lacolity and utility, this district will be develope as a local silk industry region.
