More Information
Summary:We studied the efficacy and usefulness of FC-9201 cream which contains 1.0%γ-Oryzanol on the patients with dry skin symptoms such as asteatosis, xerosis senilis and postinflammatory dry skin. This evaluation was conducted by half side comparative study with OTC cream for dry skin containing vitamin A, D and E (ADE cream). After 4 weeks of application, the amount of skin surface lipids on FC-9201 cream-treated side increased significantly (p<0.05) compared to those of ADE cream-treated one. Especially in aged group (over 40 years old), the skin surface lipids remarkably increased on the FC-9201 cream-treated side. The water content of horny layer increased on both FC-9201 cream and ADE cream-treated sides after 4 weeks of application. The results of questionnaire about these creams on the subjects indicated that both of FC-9201 cream and ADE cream were effective and useful with excellent feeling on dry skin. Further, FC-9201 cream showed usefulness superior to that of ADE cream on the patients with postinflammatory dry skin and xerosis senilis.
