Summary:Our previous report presented a technique to improve the overshoot in a transient response by sensitivity analysis. It dealt with a system with symmetric characteristic matrices. However, sometimes it is necessary to improve the response of a system with asymmetric characteristic matrices (so called "asymmetric system"). As a continuation of the previous paper, this one considers an asymmetric system. First, the concept of the left and right eigenvectors is introduced to obtain the sensitivity derivatives of the eigenvectors. Then the sensitivity derivatives of the overshoot are derived from them. The proposed method is examined numerically to show its effectiveness.
