Summary:Object For examinating the characteristics and ability of the electronic tensile machine which was trially built by ourselves, the dynamic characteristics of gum and fiber were tested under each load and extention input by this machine. Results 1) It is recognized that variable tensile tests such as repeated load input or constant rate of load input, and load or extention input of arbitrary functions of time are possible by this machine. 2) The transient characteristics of gum and fiber obtained under each load and extention input are certained to show similar tendency to the theoretical curves. It is recognizable that our machine works very well for every tensile test. 3) In the case of the extention input, the output load response of 4-element model composed of Maxwell and Voigt models is expressed as the function of sin h (t). From the above results, it has been appreciated that our electronic tensile machine is available to the testing of dynamic characteristics of many kinds of engineering materials.
